Sometimes due to an iTunes bug, the last few seconds of a song is not streamed over AirPlay.A 4 minute song will take 4 minutes to record. Due to the nature of Airplay, recording are done in real time. When I go to the computer in my office, I see that either the screen saver has engaged or the screen has gone to “sleep” this seems to disrupt the signal and I have to go through the logging off and on ritual described above. While watching videos from my Computer on the Apple TV, the signal would drop out and I’d get the obligatory error messages, etc., and I am not able to reconnect. Make sure the correct Apple ID appears when you do this. If your Apple TV is not communicating, turn off HOMESHARING in the FILES\HOMESHARING\ section and then turn it on again. Make sure you have the same Apple Id showing up here and in the ACCOUNT\AUTHORIZATIONS\ menus. iTunes has this redundancy where “home sharing” is configured both in the EDIT\PREFERENCES section and in the FILES\HOMESHARING\ menu. I may have stumbled onto a couple of things today.ġ.

I’ve had this issue between my iTunes (on PC) and my Apple TV 3 for sometime now. Please leave a comment and let others know about your experience with this issue. I hope one of these tips fixed your problem with iTunes Home Sharing in Windows. Restart iTunes and try to use the Home Sharing feature again.

If the Bonjour service isn’t your problem, you may have a problem with iTunes trying to route sharing traffic using IP6 instead of IP4.

Double-click the “ Bonjour” service, set the “ Startup type” to “ Automatic“.Select the “ Start” button, type “ services.msc“, then press “ Enter“.To enable the Bonjour service, follow these steps: Otherwise it will tell you that the Bonjour service is not running. This tab should display sharing options if the Bonjour service is running. You can check this by going to “ Edit” > “ Preferences” within iTunes and selecting the “ Sharing” tab. First, make sure that the Bonjour service is running on your computer.
